ImmuneSpace Publications Page User Guide and API

User Guide for the Publication Page

Users can filter publications using several criteria, such as MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms, specific HIPC centers, or ImmuneSpace Study IDs

The publications interface is divided into two sections. The left side provides a tag-based filtering system organized into three categories: Dataset Availability, HIPC Centers, and Publication Keywords. The right side displays the search results, initially showing 10 publications with a “load more” button to view additional results in increments of 10.

Each publication entry includes the title, author list, journal, publication date, and a PMID that links directly to the article on PubMed. Users can expand each entry to read the abstract. Below each publication, clickable tags allow for quick filtering by that criterion. Active filters appear blue-grey in color and will be displayed at the top of the results page. A tag can be removed by clicking it again or selecting the small cross icon next to it.

The HIPC Centers tags should be used to filter publications published by past and current HIPC centers.

  • Single centers tag (i.e. Columbia University, Stanford…) are the current HIPC centers from the renewed HIPC 3 in 2022 - 2027
  • HIPC 3 filters publications published by the current centers of HIPC 3 (2022 - 2027)
  • HIPC 2 filters publications published by the past centers of HIPC 2 (2015 - 2022)
  • HIPC 1 filters publications published by the past centers of HIPC 1 (2010 - 2015)

The Dataset Availability tags filters publications that have additional data available in ImmuneSpace Data Access (Studies, Arms, Participants, Events, Assays and Signatures).

The last group of tags are MeSH terms associated with publications (I.e. COVID-19, Influenza…).

Tags that have been applied will be highlighted in a dark gray color.

Once a tag is applied, the publication list on the right hand side will automatically update with the users query. All tags can be sorted by frequency or alphabetically.

Once the desired tags have been selected, users can filter the publications by date.

API Access

The endpoint https://immunespace.org/api/parse_publications/0/10 returns the first 10 publications, where the second number (10) is the limit and can be increased to retrieve more results. Each publication object returned by the API includes details such as the title, list of authors, journal information, publication date, PubMed ID (PMID), abstract, and associated tags. Each tag object provides its label, MeSH descriptor ID, and the number of times it appears across HIPC publications.
