Description: The Human Immunology Project Consortium (HIPC) is supported by the HIPC Coordinating Center (HCC), which plays a key role in integrating and promoting data from the HIPC Centers to the broader scientific community. The HCC achieves this by developing shared data standards, providing a central Knowledgebase of study results, establishing tools to visualize and analyze data, providing administrative support for the activities of HIPC subcommittees, and management of the IOF grant program. The HCC serves as a promoter of cross-HIPC collaborations through the organization of multi-center analysis projects and a centralized Portal to facilitate the exchange of ideas. To achieve the dual goals of having a persistent home for data storage along with customized access to the data in a community-specific fashion, the HIPC consortium decided to use ImmPort as the primary repository to provide a long-term term sustainable archive for research and clinical data. The data from ImmPort is validated, curated, and expanded in ImmuneSpace, which also provides community-specific query and reporting functionality. This presentation will go over how ImmuneSpace is built, showcasing the infrastructure and data standards that can be used to help create similar resources for the scientific community.
