Dear HIPC Members (and anyone that is interested!),
The Peters Lab at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology is hosting a public modeling challenge using multi-omics datasets, and would love for any interested immunologists, bioinformaticians or postdocs to join, advance immunology and showcase your skills (while also getting the chance to be on publications and win a prize!).
Through the NIH-funded Computational Models of Immunity to Pertussis Booster (CMI-PB) the team has built up a resource of multi-omics datasets to study Pertussis vaccination. This dataset includes gene expression, antibody, cell frequency, and cytokine levels. In this challenge, we would like you to create a prediction model using the available data in order to predict vaccine responses.
We have successfully completed two rounds of prediction modeling challenges, and we are now on the 3rd challenge that is open to the public. Check out our paper here to see our findings from the 1st (Internal) CMI-PB Challenge.
As mentioned, we have prizes for top performers! Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with the best-performing models. The total prize money is $5000 (more information on the prizes here). All submitters with at least one significant score will be acknowledged as co-authors in the manuscript following this challenge.
- 1st place: $3,000
- 2nd place: $1,500
- 3rd place: $500
Important Dates:
